This is a brief item about the "Mutters Day Fashion Show" hosted by the Grand Hall at the Priory, which featured a dog fashion show to benefit the Animal Rescue League.  

The Priory Hotel and Grand Hall hosted the Austrian American Cultural Society of Pittsburgh's annual Austrian Ball on March 31.  The highlight of the event is the presentation of eight young ladies of poise, beauty and scholarship, as covered by the Pittsburgh Pos-Gazette.  

WTAE TV, Pittsburgh's ABC affiliate, broadcaset this story about a Priory hotel guest, Frank McKinney.  McKinney is a real estate developer traveling the country promoting his "Survival to Thrival" project. which seeks to transition the homeless to productive lives.  As part of his mission, McKinney traded his place at the "posh" Priory with a resident of a local shelter, David Aikens, who was extremely grateful for his night at our facility.  

Author Hilary Daninhirsch tells the story of Priory Hotel and Grand Hall at the Priory in the Weddings issue of this lifestyle magazine.  

The Priory Hotel's owner and Director of Operations John Graf, Grand Hall General Manager Walter Czapliewicz, and Wedding Sales Specialist Heather McDowell were featured on a segment of the WPXI TV television show "Consumer Sense" with host Dr. Audrey Guskey.  The Priory representatives discussed trends in the wedding industry and tips for brides to save money.  

In this article trumpeting Pittsburgh's rise from gritty steeltown to hip, urban destination, writer Eleanor Berman lists the Priory Hotel as one of four recommended places to stay, calling it "a 42 room boutique hotel with charm."  The Priory was the only independent hotel among the four mentioned.  

Writer Bette McDevitt tells the story of the Priory Hotel's first transformation, from monastery to boutique hotel, in 1986 and its second transformation, in 2011, when it expanded from 25 to 42 guestrooms.  Writer McDevitt also discusses how the Priory has acted as a linchpin in the redevelopment of its Deutschtown neighborhood in the past 25 years.  She notes:  "Over the years, awards from the hotel industry and praise from guests have made the Priory Hotel one of the most desirable places to stay in the city of Pittsburgh."  McDevitt quotes Western Pennsylvania Small Business Administration District Director Carl Knoblock, who called the Graf family, owners of the Priory, "'bold visionaries who opened a city inn and perhaps helped turn around Pittsburgh's Deutschtown neighborhood.  You can see the rehabilitation and civic pride all through this historic neighborhood.'"  Electronic versions of this article are available upon request.
