The Pittsburgh North Shore is a section of Pittsburgh located north of downtown, just across the Allegheny and Ohio rivers. It was formerly known as Allegheny City, but was annexed (the local residents say stolen) by the City of Pittsburgh in 1907.
Today the neighborhood is an entertainment destination unto itself. People come from all over the world come to visit the Andy Warhol Museum. The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh and the National Aviary are nationally renowned. PNC Park, home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, is consistently rated among the top ballparks in the country.Heinz Field and the Pittsburgh Steelers tailgating are just down the street. And the Carnegie Science Center is one of the most popular attractions in Pittsburgh.
