Sacred Pittsburgh!
$265-$285 per night plus tax

While a trip to Rome is always welcome, you don't have to travel farther than the banks of the Allegheny River to experience world class religious art, architecture and artifacts, and our Priory Hotel's Sacred Pittsburgh Tour Package will show you just that!

Our tour package starts with a trip to the magnificent St. Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church in the nearby community of Millvale. St. Nicholas, built by immigrants from Croatia, is famed for the massive Maxo Vanka murals which adorn the church's interior walls. The Vanka murals tell the story of Croatian immigrants seeking a better life in the United States, and also provide a commentary on Vanka's views on the futility of was and his sorrow on the harms inflicted on Croatia between World Wars I and II. The Vanka murals are justifiably considered to be world class works of art, and offers an excellent blending of Pittsburgh ethnic history and world renowned religious art.

Next stop is St. Anthony's Chapel in the nearby neighborhood of Troy Hill. While an unassuming presence on a residential street, St. Anthony's houses the largest collection of religious relics, including the bones of many saints, of any sanctuary outside of the Vatican. It's a fascinating place to visit, and draws pilgrims from all over the world.

Our "Sacred Pittsburgh" Tour takes you for guided tours to both of these unique religious sites, and circles around for dinner at the Church Brew Works in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood. Once St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the building was transformed into the Church Brew Works in the mid-1990's, an award winning brewery and restaurant.

The Sacred Pittsburgh Tour Package includes: The Sacred Pittsburgh Tour pre-pays all suggested donations to the religious facilities for you, and provides a $50 dinner voucher to the Church Brew Works. You'll also receive, at check in, a special Sacred Pittsburgh gift basket in your guest room, which includes a variety of Pittsburgh themed snacks and information on the tour locations. Our Priory Hotel shuttle will provide transportation to and from all of these attractions. Due to guided tour dates and times, this package is only available on Saturday afternoons (though you are welcome to tour the facilities during the hours they are open to the public without the guided tour).
