Pittsburgh's Best Irish Pubs!

Pittsburgh's Best Irish Pubs!

Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle (Strip District: Founded in the early '90's, Mullaney's is a hub of Irish culture in Pittsburgh, featuring everything from weekly Ceili dancing to live Irish music. And when you step into the pub, it's like setting foot in a bar in the Old Sod itself. Friendly service, some great Irish food (and a killer hamburger), and live music make Mullaney's a must-visit in the City. https://www.harpandfiddle.com/

Riley's Pour House (Carnegie): Located a few miles southwest of the City, Riley's has been a neighborhood institution for nearly 40 years. The pub consists of both a cozy indoor bar reminiscent of one you might visit in Dublin, and a vast outdoor covered patio. Riley's features live music (check the schedule), and tasty Irish and American dishes (try the cock-a-leekie soup!). If you're of the mind of visiting an authentic feeling Irish pub, it's well worth the short jaunt. https://www.rileyspourhouse.com/

Monterey Pub (Mexican War Streets): While not featuring the live music of Mullaney's or Riley's, the Monterey Pub more than makes up for it with its cozy neighborhood vibe, friendly service and excellent food. Irish staples like Shepherd's Pie abound, but the star of the show is the burger. The Monterey is tucked into a historic residential street in the picturesque North Side Neighborhood of the Mexican War Streets. https://www.montereypub.com/

Hoople's Public House (Carrick): Positioned on the main street (Brownsville Road) of the south Pittsburgh neighborhood of Carrick, Hoople's founder and proprietor is one of Pittsburgh's most famous persons of Irish descent, Jeffrey McCafferty ("Big Mac"). Known for his massive physical presences (and larger than life personality) retired teacher Big Mac and his team serve excellent pub grub and an authentic Pittsburgh neighborhood experience. Mac's even authored a book on his experience as a publican - Life Lessons Learned Down at the Pub. Hoople's Public House.
