The Monk's Bar

Welcome to the ultimate Mini-Bar.  The Monks’ Bar, which debuted in February 2011, is, with 14 seats, the smallest bar in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  But small does not mean less than mighty, as the Monks’ Bar boasts a huge collection of top shelf liquors, an excellent wine list and an ever-changing list of microbrews.  Topping things off is a menu of hard-to-find classic cocktails, hearkening back to a more genteel era where one savored the subtle blend of liquors whose sum of parts was greater than the whole.  Ask for our own Monktini!

The Monks’ Bar is open 7 days a week from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and is open to the public.

Business Center

The Priory’s business center, nestled on the ground level of the new wing, has two workstations for those without their own computers, as well as a laser printer.  Fax and copying services are also available.

Fitness Center

The Priory offers a fully furnished fitness center on the ground level of the new wing,  featuring new equipment, including

EV Charging Station

The Priory Hotel is proud to announce the opening of a new Electric Vehicle charging port in its Nash Street parking lot.  The EV Charger is for the exclusive use of Priory Hotel overnight guests.  The charger can typically provide a full charge to most electric vehicles overnight.  Available for a modest fee, the Priory Hotel is delighted to play its part in assisting in conserving our precious resources and in providing convenience for all of its guests. 

Bike Friendly

At the Priory Hotel, we don’t just take care of our guests – we take care of their bicycles too. Located just blocks from the Allegheny River bike trail, and just miles from beginning of the Great Allegheny Passage, which goes from McKeesport through Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands and through Maryland into Washington, DC, the Priory is a great option for bicycle enthusiasts.  Whether you want to incorporate bike touring into your Pittsburgh visit, or you want to use Pittsburgh as your jumping off point for your adventure to the nation’s capital, the Priory has sought to make itself as “bike friendly” as possible.

The Priory offers a variety of bike repair tools and maintenance items (such as chain lube), as well as an air condenser, to assist in equipment tune-ups.  The hotel has also created outdoor storage space for bicycles, including a specially designed bike shelter in the hotel’s courtyard.   (Please let us know in advance if you’d like to use our bicycle storage, as space is limited). And with the Priory’s complimentary, easy in-and-out parking, and its central location, the Priory makes a great choice for the traveling bike enthusiast.

The Priory Courtyard

There’s nothing like fresh air when you’re traveling, and it can be in short supply if you are staying in the city.  At the Priory, the outdoors is always available in our garden courtyard.  With its fountain and awning-enclosed Victorian porch, the Priory’s courtyard makes for the perfect place to have your breakfast or a relaxing drink at the end of the day.  You can make your plans, or just clear your head and listen to the gurgling water.

Proximity to Allegheny General Hospital

The Priory Hotel offers special rates for patients and close family members of persons receiving treatment at Allegheny General Hospital.  Allegheny General Hospital is located approximately eight blocks from the Priory Hotel.
